⚡ Sparky Smart Grab List

⏱ Labor Settings

Defaults are based on NECA Manual of Labor Units (Normal conditions). All rates are editable. Green border = auto-filled from NECA.

Changing conditions rescales all labor rate fields automatically. You can still fine-tune individual rates after.
Start by choosing a task above. Once selected, the app will open the matching input section so you can build a material grab list and labor estimate.
Parallel runs only apply to 2" and larger. Smaller sizes stay at 1 run.
Allthread mounting automatically changes this to Mineralac Straps.
Enter dimensions like 12x12x6 — labor rate will auto-fill based on box size.
Each 90° elbow adds 2 couplings.

Rates auto-fill when you change conduit size, support type, or box type. Standard and custom boxes use separate rates because size changes install time.

↑ Auto by conduit size (1/2"=0.045 → 4"=0.16)
↑ Auto by strap type (1-hole=0.05 → mineralac=0.10)
↑ Auto by type (4" Sq=0.50, 4-11/16"=0.60)
↑ Auto by dims (<8"=0.50, 8-11"=0.75, 12-17"=1.25, 18+"=2.00)
Use this when each stub location has multiple parallel conduits.
Brackets use your stub-length rule automatically.
⏱ Labor Rates — NECA Based

Stub labor auto-fills by conduit size — bigger conduit takes longer to cut, terminate, and mount. Rate covers conduit, box, connector, and bushing per location.

↑ Auto by size (3/4"=0.80, 1"=0.90, 1-1/4"=1.00, 1-1/2"=1.10, 2"=1.25)
You can enter a manual quantity, or use total length and spacing below to auto-calculate it.
If both length and spacing are entered, trapeze quantity = ceil(length ÷ spacing) + 1.
A 2-level trapeze uses the same rods with a second strut added below the first — great for stacking cable trays or conduit tiers.
For 2-level trapezes, make sure this total length accounts for both strut levels and the spacing between them.
If selected, the list adds 2 square washers per rod drop (applied to Level 1).
If selected, adds spring nuts for every strut-to-rod connection on all levels.

Covers strut cut, rod cut and thread, hardware assembly, and overhead installation. Adjust for ceiling height and accessibility.

Use quantity for how many free-standing strut frames you want to build.
This also adds one washer per bolt so you have a starting point.
Choose the anchor or fastener you want this structure to use.
⏱ Labor Rates — NECA Based

Frame rate covers layout, cut, and assembly of strut members and brackets. Anchor rate covers drilling and setting each fastener.

Basket tray is typically sold in 10ft sections; ladder/solid tray in 12ft or 24ft.
NEMA VE-1 max span is typically 5–10ft depending on tray class and load.
Bonding jumper at each splice maintains grounding continuity per NEC 250.96.

Tray rate scales with type and width — larger/heavier tray takes more time to lift, align, and splice. Fitting rate auto-adjusts by tray type.

↑ Auto by type + width (basket < ladder < solid)
↑ Auto by tray type (basket=0.30, ladder=0.50, solid=0.60)
Rough-in = boxes, hangers, whips. Fixture = hang and connect. Both covers full scope per location.
Drop from the structure down to the fixture. Used for pendant hangers (allthread, cable, chain) and for independent safety-support wires on grid-ceiling fixtures. Set to 0 for flush / surface / recessed mounts.
Rough-In Settings
Prefab whips save ~0.30 hrs per fixture vs field-built.
Use 2+ when a fixture needs a feed box and a separate switch/emergency box.
Used only when basis = "per row / chain" or for pendant strip boxes.
Not every box needs a whip — e.g. thru-feeds or switch legs. Whips are capped at box count.
Fixture Install Settings
Code typically requires independent support of lay-in fixtures (NEC 410.36). Ignored for non-grid mounts.
⏱ Labor Rates — NECA Based

Rates auto-fill by fixture type and mount. Prefab whips reduce rough-in labor significantly vs field-built.

↑ Auto by mount type
↑ Auto by whip mode (prefab=0.10, field=0.40)
↑ Auto by fixture type
↑ Allthread + box mounted to concrete/steel
